Our team is experienced in conducting energy audits and issuing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for all building types, in line with the Greek Buildings' Energy-Efficiency Regulation requirements (KENAK).
We are accredited and certified Energy Assessors, listed on the official registry of the Greek Ministry of Environment & Energy (YPEN).
The issue of an EPC is mandatory in the following cases:
For all buildings (including those with floor area below 50m2) for principal building types (residential – permanent and seasonal, offices, commercial use, public assembly, education, healthcare etc.) as follows:
- New built and major refurbishment:
- Existing buildings:
-
- Following completion of every new building or a major refurbishment

- In every purchase / sale or rental, of an entire building or part of a building (e.g. apartment, business unit)
- All public buildings >250m2 frequently visited by the public, should display their EPC in a prominent position
- The issue of EPCs is mandatory for housing owners wishing to apply for funding under the “Energy Efficiency at Household Buildings Program”.
What is an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)
An EPC is a certificate accredited by the Greek Ministry of Environment & Energy (YPEN), on which the assessed building’s (building unit’s) energy performance is described.
On the EPC, the building is classified under an “energy class”, ranging from A+ to H, depending on its overall energy performance, based on the construction of the building envelope as well as the building services systems used to provide space heating, cooling, domestic hot water, ventilation, lighting.
The EPC is issued only by accredited Energy Assessors, on the YPEKA registry (www.buildingcert.gr), after conducting an on-site energy audit of the building, collecting the necessary information and calculating the energy performance using approved software. Subject to the results of the calculation, the Energy Assessor includes as part of the EPC, recommendations to the Client for improving the energy performance of the building (/building unit).
