Our team of engineers undertake sustainability assessments and certification of new or refurbished buildings of all types, using the LEED methodology.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is one of the most recognised and internationally credible methods for the assessment and certification of buildings’ sustainability performance, developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in 1998. The use of LEED encourages Clients, developers, designers and contractors to adopt best practices that reduce the overall environmental impact of a building during its lifecycle (design, construction, operation), leading to a building that is more comfortable for the users, has lower running costs and a reduced environmental impact, while having an increased asset value.

Example building types which can be certified using LEED include:

  • Offices
  • Retail / commercial buildings
  • Schools
  • Healthcare
  • Retail
  • Hospitality
  • Warehouse and Distribution Centers

LEED assesses in a holistic approach the overall sustainability performance of a building on 9 key areas:

Integrative Process
Location & transportation
Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy & Atmosphere
Materials & Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality
Innovation
Regional Priority

For each of these areas, there is a list of specific credits that can be achieved, leading to a total score.

On the basis of the total score, the building achieves one of the following 4 certification ratings:

Platinum, Gold, Silver or Certified
