Residential and Commercial Photovoltaic Systems with Net Billing

Net billing is a mechanism that promotes self-generation and self-consumption using RES, based on the financial offsetting of produced and consumed energy. Energy generated by the photovoltaic system that is not immediately consumed is injected into the grid and sold at a predetermined price, while the energy required to meet demand is billed separately, according to the supplier’s tariff structure.
Within the net billing framework, the term “net” refers to the financial balance of energy transactions, rather than simple energy offsetting as in net metering. In practice, this means that the final energy bill is calculated as the difference between the value of the energy sold and the value of the energy purchased, providing the consumer with a “net” financial result.
The system can be installed at the same or an adjacent site to the consumption installation and connected to the grid in accordance with the prescribed technical and administrative procedures.
