WELL Building Standard
Our team includes a WELL AP (Accredited Professional) and can undertake the assessment and certification of new and existing buildings using the WELL standard.
What is WELL
WELL is the first building standard to focus exclusively on human health and wellness and it is based on years of research in health and scientific standards.
WELL Certified spaces are designed to improve the nutrition, fitness, mood, sleep patterns, productivity and performance of the people working, living, shopping or playing inside of them. WELL assesses the parameters that impact on human health and wellbeing, by looking at 10 concepts:
WELL is composed of over 100 criteria (“features”) that can be applied to each building project for a customized approach. Features can be either pre-requisites or optimizations. According to the achieved overall performance, the building is classified into one of the following 4 ratings:
Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze
The WELL standard is designed to complement green building rating systems, such as LEED and BREEAM.
Example applications:
- Offices
- Retail
- Educational buildings
- Residential
- Nursing homes
- Healthcare units
Performance Verification
WELL is based on performance verification through onsite measurements and checks (e.g. air and water quality measurements, indoor acoustic levels etc.) to ensure that the building performs as intended, and in line with the WELL standard specifications. Verification is conducted by independent accredited testing agents, according to the protocols and technical criteria of the standard.
